Criminal Defense Law
Our
Constitution provides every citizen with certain rights when the
government accuses that citizen of a criminal offense. Those rights
include the right to remain silent. That is, one is not required
to speak with any government official without the presence of
an attorney. We have the right to be represented by an attorney
at any stage of the proceeding. Further rights provide that the
government has the burden of proving the criminal offense against
a citizen beyond a reasonable doubt, and that proof of guilt be
presented to a jury of citizens from the community.
Before speaking with any person about any criminal offense, please
call for an appointment with an attorney. |
